Heidi was playing in the bathroom while I was in their earlier like she always does...(i get NO privacy ). Well, she got a little too close to the baseboard heater, and burnt her lil bum (i checked, there is no blister and she is ok i think it just scared her). She didn't yelp or anything, but took off outta the bathroom (she ran so fast and was so close I could tell she burnt herself) and bit Buddy!! He was shocked and mad and bit her back...and there I am on the pot, w/ my dogs totally going at it!! I finally got Heidi back in the bathroom w/ me and kicked the door shut to separate them (even threw towels behind the door so he coudln't get it open b/c it doesn't latch). Why on earth would she do that!?

OMG:rotfl: :rotfl: , i Have No idea why Heidi did that, but this is just so funny I can't stop laughing,,I was actually on the phone with my mom when I was reading this, and I almost burst out laughing with her on the phone, and that would have been way uncool cause she was complaining about being sick... she tends to talk your ear off when you are on the phone with her, and I was trying to get her off the phone so I could finish reading this, I had to turn my head away from the computer screen so I could stop the laugh that was coming out of me :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would suspect Heidi got burnt and it scared her so she did everything out of hurt and fear and should not be punished, I hope they have calmed down by now.

I don't know why. I think it's mostly because of shock and pain so she bit. As long as she doesn't bit Buddy for no reason I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Mine do something similar.

If one gets hurt (usually because someone is underfoot and a paw or tail gets stepped on by a human parent), it almost always initiates an alpha challenge where they do their posturing and pushing and turning the butts to each other and putting their heads on each other's backs... but sometimes they will start snarling and snapping at each other like yours did. I think I read somewhere that with wolves, after a pack member is injured, sometimes there is a pack order rearrangement and that is why they do that. If Heidi seems to be the dominant dog, she may be trying to make sure Buddy knows she might have been injured but she is **** well still in charge! :D

You can take that theory with a grain of salt :) but it seems to make sense based on the behavior of my two.

I would compare it to my kids at times. If one isn't feeling good, he/she will take it out on the other. Actually, adults do that too, huh? I hope her little tush is okay and her brother knows she is sorry. As for the privacy, well, imagine having HUMAN kids thrown in too! I have NO PRIVACY. Usually when I open the bathroom door, I have 3 pair of eyes staring at me. Like "hey, it's about time you got outta there...now come play!" :rotfl:

Poor Becca! Can't even read in peace? :rotfl: :rotfl: GOod that everyone is ok and not still tiffed. ITA with Kim. Mine will do the same thing - imagine the entire herd going at it? Thank heavens it's over fast and nobody gets hurt. Extra smooches for a smoked hiney :rotfl:

OMG, I was laughing at Becca's post, thought I was safe, then read Michelle's post and pulled a Sandi... :spit: I have BEEN there with my mom too!!

Yes, I agree...she was suffering, and wanted to make sure her bro suffered too. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm sorry but I was laughing so hard when I read that. :rotfl: I could just see all this going on with you on the pot! I have no idea why they do it, but I've seen the same kind of behaviour that Kim describes with hers.
