right next door! The animal control guys were at my office yesterday. Our city has a 5 dog maximum and I kinda have gone over that!! They've been pretty much ignoring me but guess somebody I pi**ed off - complained. Sooo, Jadaa has temp moved next door to Michael's house - Sam is "just" a foster so I'm back to the 5 limit! Am looking Monday into obtaining a kennel permit to cover my A** in the future - BOY is it quiet here without her.
She was the obvious choice as Hershey can't go anywhere, Michael didn't want 2 puppies, Pete & Stinker are just too old to try and adjust to a move , my husband would divorce me if Shadow left! and Oscar is too cranky to deal with the constant flow of people in and out of his house.
It's almost comical - she stayed over there last night - claimed Michael's roommates bed and made herself at home! She came to visit today for several hours and then all of a sudden was at the door bouncing up and down> I opened the door, she went out - calmly went over to his house and started jumping at the front door BARKING LIKE MAD!!
So, the herd is a bit smaller - to be politically correct until I get the kennel thing! Not so sure if I'm gonna like this but for now it has to be.

Wow  I'm glad Michael lives next door!! You would miss your girl if she was too far away :(

Good luck with the kennel permit! Sam is *just* a foster? Uh huh.

Good luck with the kennel permit!! Maybe you and Michael could combine backyards so it seems like all the dogs live apart, but together at the same time!

Silly limits. Glad it all worked out and kennel permit :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: headed your way! Sounds like Jadaa is having fun on her "vacation"!

And if one of the neighbors did complain, well heck, 5 doxies make almost as much noise as 7, what's the difference?? ;)

That sucks big time. I did check when we moved to Sarasota about dog limit. I was told there is none. I hope they are right because I'd hate to be in your situaton. I hope you can work something out Sandi.

I worry about that. Our neighborhood has a 3 dog limit and I've got 5 (and a foster). I figure if anyone reports me, I'll claim that 2 others are fosters and make a panicky call to Shelly to confirm that.

Amanda and Sweetums rarely go outside so probably no one except my next door neighbors even know that they are here. Luckily my next door neighbors don't care, but one of them is an 80+ year old woman (she's a doll!) and I dread the day that she moves. It's a huge house and I'll probably get someone with 10 kids who harass my dogs all day long. But for now I have great neighbors and everything is good.

We are actually working on it! Our yards are connected - gotta figure a way for him to let them out (as the side of his house backs up to my privacy fence (weird arrangement)) so that they can come and go as they please.
It's working ok so far, she is in HEAVEN! Now she rules over 2 houses!! and as she is such a great lady - she "allows" everyone who visits him to lavish affection on her without much fuss:rotfl:

I did a bit more investigation and was told that I could not be told who turned in the complaint against me - some privacy issue. Then a little bird chirped in my ear that it was a tenant who I threw out for non payment of rent. Guess it was a case of I'll get you... I was told to lay low for a bit - don't even have to worry about the permit issue - these guys all know my dogs and how well they are taken care of. So, Jadaa gets a vacation - wonder if she's gonna want to come home after being do royally SPOILEDDDDDD!

Sorry to hear the latest but I'm sure Jadaa is a happy girl. If at all possible I would still get the kennel permit to avoid this situation in the future.
