So last night I decide to go take a hot bath (I was cold and couldn't seem to warm up). Now my hot baths usually last as long as it takes the tub to fill but last night I was reading about my new cell phone so I was in there a wee bit longer.
When I come back downstairs about 30 mins later I find Frankie has some how gotten Ruby's Prednisone off the counter top (I don't know how he does it) and chewed off the top and eaten 9 pills! :faint: I made him throw up (which he wasn't to happy about) and watched him like a hawk making him sleep smack dab up against me. He only got up to get one drink (a long one) and that was all so I think I got most out of his system. I called the vet this morning and he said I need to watch for more vomiting and diarrhea but his poo looked fine this am. Now I have to go pick up more pills for Rudy Roo because she only had four left out of 13.
I tell ya he's giving me gray hair!

HOLY SH*T!!! Sorry, hope I didnt offend anyone, but WOW!! How is he doing this morning? Has he gone poo at all?
What a naughty box that Frankie is! And what a reach if he can get things off the counter. Glad he seems to be ok after his "adventure". :evilgrin0

and acted quickly. I"m sure he'll be just fine...:bigrayz: :bigrayz: Where's the gray hair smiley for you?
I'm thankful you were there with a quick reaction (making him vomit). This could have been fatal. Sending :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: Frankie will be okay.

He wasn't even very thirsty last night so that makes me think he got most of it out of his system. I need to write down everything he's gotten into so when he finds a forever home they'll really understand what he's able to do.
So happy to hear everything is okay! What a scare!! Let me guess, if you wanted him to take the pred, he would turn up his nose at it? Or are they flavor tabs?
What a little character Frankie is.

I can totally relate! what a little stinker. I am having similar issues with Sanford. He's crazy! But then he snuggles up to me and I kiss that long nose and all is forgiven. The funny thing is, i think Sanford is giving HIMSELF gray hair. I have noticed a few on him...and he is only supposed to be a year old.
Ultimately, you'll find the perfect home for Frankie and it will all be worth it! :D

Whoa! I'm so glad you were there and acted quickly. Little stinker! How'd he get it off the counter? but then again he's a dachshund. They can do things no ordinary dog can do!

What a horrifying experience!!! I'm totally amazed that he'd go for prednizone but who knows what goes through their furry little minds?? Good work on your part!!!:appl: ...I've learned with Alex that a quiet out of sight dog is a dog getting herself into trouble...chewing doorframes, blankets, jumping up onto the counters (yes, ONTO the counter...someone *ahem* left a chair too close to it and the treat box was just too tempting...getting down was a bit of an issue however!) Nowadays, when I take a bath, she's closed into the bathroom with me. Much sighing and groaning and dirty looks "this floor's hard. It's too warm/cold/uncomfortable. No, all these towels aren't good enough for me to lie on....Hmmph!!"
I swear human kids can't be this much trouble sometimes!!! (Of course, I don't have any, or I'd probably not say that quite so blithely!"):)
YIKES!!! Glad you were there just in time to make him vomit!!! What a scare indeed!!! Way to think on your feet in an emergency situation. :appl:

 OMG! Sure glad you caught it in time! How is Frankie this morning?
Poor fella :hug99: I will be happy when Sophie is finished her Prednisone :please:
I am puzzled......You have Dachshunds....And you get bath time ALONE?!:conf4:
So last night I decide to go take a hot bath (I was cold and couldn't seem to warm up). Now my hot baths usually last as long as it takes the tub to fill but last night I was reading about my new cell phone so I was in there a wee bit longer.
I can't get any privacy!!! :dog1: :dog1:

He is totally fine and being his crazy self.
The only reason I get this alone time is that I go upstairs where my clawfoot tub is and the puppers stay downstairs babygated. I was crating them (well the fosters) because I had to babygate climbers, Ruby (who is for now in her crate) and Flash (who was adopted) so I thought it was safe for them to be roaming around. They cannot join me in the upstairs bathroom because this is Francessca's safe place where her food and kitty litter box is. The dogs get the whole house and poor kitty only gets one room (not really because she does roam the whole house too).
