Well, we had training this morning...
Reese ROCKED. He got to the end of the Junior tunnel in 8 seconds and worked the full 90 seconds as required in SENIOR until I pulled him out. Both runs were excellent! The "cheerleading" that I have been doing with him at the line has really paid off. He literally kicked up some dirt, he took off so fast. We even worked on his recall that is required for Senior and for his first time he did great!
Bailey had a bit of a setback, we think. He took off like a bat out of hell into the tunnel. Made it to the rats in 5!!! seconds and started working right away. Well, his 60 seconds passed and I decided to let him go another 30 because he was working so well, and then all of a sudden, he popped up, and hit his head on the door that is used to lift the dog out. Well, he took off running out of the tunnel completly scared. We did work with him to get back into the tunnel and working again. After much coaxing by me. I was literally laying on the groud, my head in the tunnel calling for him. Hopefully all was not lost. We'll see.
It was a great day overall. Reese is doing so well, I am so proud of him. Bailey, it's hard to be disappointed because to think that he just took to the earthdog so quickly and naturally, he's doing so good for being new to it.
Our next trial is about 5 weeks away and I cannot wait.
