What did Saffyre really think of the rats?
And most important... Why in heaven's name have Sophie and Lili stopped barking and started doing the death stare at the rats?!? Do they not know that the death stare is a disqualifier? They need to work the rats for 90 seconds...not stare at them... They have both done it multiple times...what is up now?!?

I'm getting that Saffyre is apprehensive about the rats. They're icky in her opinion. She kind of wrinkles up her nose at the whole ordeal. She'll do it to please you, but she'd prefer to be shown for her beauty and not her skillz.
And the death stare instead of barking has come to pass for a couple of reasons. The rats told them to be quiet. They were so surprised to hear them, they listened. They've also learned that if they're quiet, they get what they want. They WANT the rats in the worst way, and are willing to do anything to get them, just not bark for them. You're going to have to get them to do the "speak" for a treat and that should reverse what's gone awry.

Lol.. I will have to see about Saffyre but if she doesn't like to hunt...it will mean less trips for her. Such a princess!
But they do not get what they want for being quiet. Not sure where they got that idea! And to hell with what the rats are saying to them!!!! If they keep up the death stare they will stop doing earthdog. I am already skipping one this year because of their performance, or lack there of...

When they hush at home, they get that it pleases you. That's where they're getting it from.

Ok...that makes sense and is true. They get loud at bedtime and it drives me nuts. Guess I need to explain to them that it is different in the tunnels...

Saffyre sure as hell doesn't care if being quiet at home pleases me. EVERY FREAKING NIGHT she spends up to a freaking hour barking at one of the other dogs (usually Mischief or my foster Fred) while they ignore her. I do not know how much longer I can take this. Nothing stops her no amount of my begging, pleading, yelling, crying... she is damned lucky I love her...at least so far

But Barkly really seems to like the sound of her bark :rotfl: , he kept on looking and licking the back of my phone after we hung up. She must have a sexy doxie bark, cause for him to pay attention other then bark is pretty special. He has only done that with Hannah his girlfriend. I hope he isnt thinking about being a gigalo:rotfl: :rotfl:
Have you done the squirt bottle? or can full of pennys/stones?

Shouting "SHUT THE EFF UP!!!!" I have failed to communicate to ANY dog that I need them to shut up occasionally. Dolly drives me insane, and I've only had one success in telling her to hush in the morning, we don't need to be barked awake. She quit for a little while, and decided it was a good idea again.

Well, if you can't get your dogs to shut up then I don't feel so bad! Jack gets on a tear sometimes and no amount of yelling or pleading gets him to stop. I once got him full face with the bottle of doom and that was effective but it was just luck.

LOL - hand raised here ! Brandy thinks if she turns her head away from me that I won't know it is her barking.... and yap, yap, yap.... no matter what..... she does not like the penny can.... so I will get that out.... sometimes I can' t find it... :(
