Joy and I will not be going to Buda....

because I am a very selfish doggie mama :duh: . I priced the trip to Buda - plane fare for both of us, hotel, rental car, food, etc., and it came to over $1400. So I decided to spend a little more and I am going to the Bahamas for four days, five nights :cheer3: :cheer3: . Joy will be with my friend and dog walker, Lisa while I am away. I am going to miss her terribly, but I know that she will be in VERY good hands with Lisa. I really need to get away. It's cold here (Boston), and I'm old and tired :wtf2: . So, unfortunately we won't be meeting you all in Texas this year :sosad: .

Me on the other hand won't be going to Buda either but not cause I'm gonna have fun but because I have to work! But, it's an important rental that I couldn't say no to ... that and now I have to pay for my own trip to Vegas for my brothers wedding. :wtf2:

you know.... hotel fees at my house are free, it is dog friendly, and as I have access to 2 cars no rental needed.

You are welcome to stay as long as you like. My guest bed is queen size and basically new. Check Jet Blue. They are dog friendly and usually reasonable fares.

I do have to admit by the time you do the air fare, add the dog fees on the flights, hotel, rental car, money you can spend at Buda it is a lot. Think about it GOOSIE's air fee to be my carry on luggage is more than my ticket.

However, I personally say it is money well spent. Meeting friends and the enjoyment to be had is priceless.

I wish I could go to Buda, but obviously, not happening this year. If we ever get there, it will be by car. Nothing short of lots of doxies could get me back across those bridges again.

I know it's pricey though JetBlue and Southwest have had some good deals (no pups on Southwest). I'm lucky to only pay airfare and will split a room with Robyne. Hopefully there will really be enough cars as we're not renting one thanks to Zandra offering to collect us from the airport.

We'd love to see you, but having survived many East Coast winters I can see the lure of the islands too. But Austin can be really warm in April. :)

There will be plenty of cars I am sure...and one of the cars I have access to is a minivan so lots of room.

Personally, I'm a bit devastated that I can't go. Stupid economy. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone in person, and playing Thelma and Louise with Rae :pout: Maybe next year...I'd love to drive down so I can bring the J's and make a real trip out of it (like a couple of weeks instead of 3 days). I'll be there in spirit though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
