One of my very dear freinds an an absolute rescue :angel7:, Lori asked me to please crosspost something here for you. Some of you know her as "onebigmickeyfan...." from another board. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is devastated right now and could definately use them. SHe asked me to post this to help make people aware of what can happen in an aggression situation.

One of the nightmares of rescue come true
Some of you may or may not know that I have had 2 fosters for the last 7 months who for various health and personality reasons are pretty much unadoptable. Well last night we had the worst possible situation come true.
Last night Riley the foster with personality issues attacked and killed Chloe the little 10 year old girl with health issues. We ran out to find Riley hovering over his kill so to speak. I have been working with Riley for as I said 7 months who came in with alpha agression issues. We had pretty much settled that both Chloe and Riley would stay with us. Chloe had a hard life before coming to us with declining health and housetraining issues, she was a pitiful little thing and broke my heart that she'd made it this far in life uncared for and unloved. She didn't want much, some decent food, a little love and a comfy place to sleep. She got those things here with us for what may have been the only time in her life. Riley issues but I loved him even though most of his alpha was directed to me and I didn't think he'd actually hurt one of the other dogs. We do not know what started the episode but we know how it ended.
We buried Chloe along side my first big dog Michael, Casey and Molly and my sisters schnauzer Sophie. She is forever in our hearts.
Now for Riley. As much as I love Riley it has been discussed among the other rescuers and Mark and I and we have concluded that Riley had to be put down. I don't know what is hurting worse, the loss of Chloe and how she left this world or the loss of Riley. He was on his last chance with me and I thought he could live his life with us but he forced our hand today and this is something I may never get over. I know we had to protect the rest of our pups and My house is sad today, there is a large empty space in it."
