You're an :angel7: for taking in Dehlia! Why on earth would anyone get rid of their 17 year old dog? She is precious and I hope she finds a great home.

Ooohhh I love her:hearts: :hearts: She'd be welcome in my home anyday. I hope the ones who 'didn't have time for her' realize that they've taught their offspring a valuable lesson about caring for the elderly. They're going to end up in a bad nursing home, if they're lucky.
That old girl hung on for 17 years, that gives me hope for Grrrt hanging on that long!

I had an old rescue OldMan that was left at the shelter with his records and note about being unable to care for him and please find him a home. Turns out he was all most 18 and lived to be 21. I loved that guy and he stayed with me. He pasted away in his sleep. His family was elderly and was going into a nursing home that would not allow pets. I think he was loved but they did not know what else to do.

I think a lot of people don't know about rescues, I didn't until after I got Gunner.

Faces like that make me want to expand the herd! She'd be more than welcomed at my house forever and ever! Hearing all these stories made me talk to Jamie's aunt, the lawyer in the family, about making sure that my guys are taken care of, if ever anything should happen to either or both of us. My kids love my dogs but I doubt either of them is capable or willing to take on the herd all at one time. I would hope so but am based on reality. So, whoever wants my money gets my dogs with quarterly home checks to make sure that they are taken care of. Weird I know - but humans can take care of themselves to a point - my babies are dependant on me. AM I :duh: or what?!

Bless your Heart Yolanda. You are the Best Rescue :angel7: I know!
What on earth were these people thinking? :curse: I agree with Andrea, I hope those :bleep: people end up in a bad nursing home!
Do they think that Seniors are disposable? It really makes me mad!:mad3:

I'm glad that Allie and Zoie have found there forever homes and Bart might get a forever home too.:hearts: :hearts:

Please give Dehlia a smooch from the Smith family and we send her tons of :love5: and :bigrayz: :bigrayz:

That just breaks my heart! How could anyone do that? She's 17 years old! Poor sweetheart, and she truly looks like a sweetheart! Hugs to you Yolanda for fostering her. She deserves a nice home where she can live out the rest of her life with people who love her.

Stories like that are heartbreaking. She must be so confused, to be loved for 17 years and then suddenly abandoned! Thank goodness she's with you Yolanda where she'll get loving and kindess to help her get used to such an upheaval.
