I got an email from Busters mom yesterday. He is doing fine and settling in. He was given a new name (not sure how I feel about this since he knew his name and responded to it from the first day we had him). So, now he's Miles Richmond due to the long trip to get him home.

He is adorable! :hearts: I'm not too keen on changing a dogs name once he knows it, but others seem to do it all the time and don't have any problems. Actually, mine answer to a variety of names. Most of mine have at least two names that I call them regularly.

He is just beautiful. I hope everything works out great for him and his new family.
And I agree with Sandi...that pink belly pic it just too much. I wanna kiss a puppy belly. Guess I'll have to settle for Laika's..
I looked at all his pics, what a little doll and I think the name Miles is cute. I'm so happy everything is working out.

Thanks for the update! He's super cute, and he looks really happy. I do think he looks more like a Buster than a Miles, but I'm sure he'll get used to it in no time. Like Patrice's crew, Charlie responds to a bunch of different names.

He really is such a cutie. I am sure he responds to love, as well as his name, so changing it probably won't make a difference, especially at his age. Taffy ignores me half the time when I call her by name.....but answers when I sarcastically call, hey....little deaf dachshund!
Maybe his new parents will join the board and keep us updated.

the name change that is. He wouldn't come to anyone just talking but if you called "Buster" he's flip his head up and "look" at us then come running. I guess that's why it's so hard on us because it was "his" name not any sort of nickname that he came to.
Everyone misses him so much here. He's the one we cry over and will miss forever. :(
We just have to keep telling ourselves that he is in a great home with loads of love and lots of puppers to play with. :)
Buster is a heartbreaker, I can see why you're having trouble letting go. Just too cute!
I like his old name, but what can you do? We kept Tasha's name--but have noticed she responds to the pronoun "She" well, since its me and DH in the house, we mostly are talking about Tasha when we say She...
