Ladies,

Please pray for me and Dehlia. I mad the decision to let her go and the appointment is tomorrow at 5 PM. Tonight, I had to force pedilyte down her again, she will not eat and looks so frail. She is too weak to walk up the ramp or cover herself with the blanket. She told me to let her go with her eyes. Tonight I will love on her, tell her I love her and tell her again it is OK to let go.

Da*(^%#@! her owners that dumped this lovely 17 year old girl at the shelter instead of doing what was right for her.

Poor angel. I am so glad she got to spend her last weeks with Yolanda. How anyone could dump this sweet baby in ashelter is beyond me. They couldn't have loved her. Cowards. I treasured every last hour with my old dog and held her when she left me. I can't imagine doing anything else. Yolanda is an angel also to take care of this sweet old lady and help her make her last journey. (((((((((((((((((((Yolanda and Dehlia)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Oh, darn those people! But in a way, they did Dehlia a favor. There is no better place than Yolanda's house for Dehlia to be. There she is conforted and loved as she should be.

My heart breaks :heartbk:each time I read this email.
It was a hard decision for you to make Yolanda, Take comfort in knowing that I would have made the same one.
Please hold Dehlia extra tight tonight for all of us here on the DLC. Tell her that we love her and hold a special place in our hearts for her. Wish her well on her journey to the bridge and let her know we will all see her when our time comes.

She is in the very Best of Loving arms tonight. She knows what love is all about because of a wonderful :angel7: Yolanda. :hearts: :hearts:

Tomorrow will be such a tough day. I truly wish I could be there to hold your hand, hug you tight and tell you what a wonderful woman you are. You have so willingly opened your heart and your home to the throw aways of society. You have given Miss Dehlia love and comfort in her final days. She has found peace and contentment on this planet where things can be so hard.

I'm so sorry Dehlia has to go through this but I'm glad she found such a truly caring gentle soul to help, hold and most of all love her the way she deserved to be loved. Yolanda- I cannot put into words the love and admiration, respect and gratitude I feel toward you. To put yourself in this position time and time again, tirelessly providing hospice care for these sweet seniors and special needs puppers is truly an awe-inspiring thing.

I am one of the lucky ones- I have never had to help a dog over the bridge. But you have shown me the love and strength and courage and compassion I will need when the time comes.

The difference is that so many of us have to help our puppers, our lifelong companions, the loves of our lives. You come in at the last minute and you don't get the running and playing and fun stuff, instead you get the sad eyes, the feeble gait, and the diapers. You get the mouths with no teeth, the gaze with no joy, the body that will not respond to their commands, knowing the end is near... You get the fear of death and the sadness that comes from maybe never knowing real love from a human and the sense of abandonment like Dehlia must feel. She has to be confused- "where are my people? I have been a good and faithful companion, and now that I need them they dumped me. "

And yet you take this precious opportunity and cram a lifetime worth of love into whatever period of time they have left. You cuddle and snuggle and murmur those sweet words of love into old ears that may have never them heard before.

You are an angel and an inspiration, and I know there is a very special corner of heaven reserved just for you. All those puppers will be restored to perfect health at the Bridge and will be waiting to show you how much you are loved, and how much your help really meant.
