Yapping dogs around my place is not big thing. We all know the different tones and what they mean. Late yesterday afternoon just before dusk Elsa, Phoenix and Wetley in the yard enjoying the nice weather. All of a sudden I heard this ruckus like I had never heard before. I could tell it was not a fight but something was "wrong."
Across the gravel road in front of my how is a small section of woods. Standing by the edge of the woods by the road were there three large White Tail Deer. Elsa was going spastic trying to get through the fence and the other two were barking non stop. So, what did the deer do -- just stand there. My coming to the door must have startled them because they turned and run back into the woods.
Elsa just would not come in and even this morning she was prowling the fence looking for her deer. Naturally no pictures

Oh, how nice to see deer out your front door! I used to see a lot of them, but they keep building houses and most of the deer habitats are gone. :sad2:
Elsa just wanted a venison dinner. What a hunter!
Your very own security guards.:appl: :appl:
A few months ago Bambi came into our yard and stripped my plants. Oh well. they needed trimming anyway. :)
Forget the deer Trixie likes to take on the raccoons.

Laika thought she was the great deer hunter...once. I was practicing our off-leash walks in the "big yard" (the unfenced part-we have 12-13 acres) and all of a sudden her nose goes up and she smelling something AMAZING-takes off and runs behind a row of evergreens like a bat outa h***, scaring me to death cuz she isn't listening to me at all. Then I hear the BIG deer SNORTS (they snort SO loud when startled-it's like air brakes releasing on a semi!) and Laika comes running back to me 90 miles an hour with her tail down and ears back...MAMA SAVE ME!
Well if deer ever threaten your property, your pack will protect you! :rotfl:

Oh man! That would have been a great picture!
Piper does that over birds! We can be laying on the couch with Piper dead asleep and if one of us says "Piper, where's the birds" she wakes up, starts barking, and makes a bee line to the doggy door to go check for them. She HATES them!

My Reesee does it over people & kitties going by our front window! She hates to see other animals on our property! I wonder how she knows when they are coming unless she can smell them a mile away!

She was "protecting" her territory! :D Good job girl!:cheer2:
At least it's safe to say that you won't have to worry about the deer eating your flowers.:rotfl:

We have barkers here, too. And they don't have anything as big as a deer on their territory... I can't even imagine! :faint:
