Little Duckie, my wobbly DRNA foster doxie sure could use some good   and :bigrayz: :bigrayz: Seems he is again having some severe pain issues. I honestly believe he might have blown a new disc higher than his first injury or may pulled a muscle deep in his chest. His appointment is at 9 AM tomorrow morning and he is not on any meds presently because of the pending appointment. Yes, should he get any worse, off to the Neuro we will go.
Duckie, is crated. His eyes are soooo sad looking and he wants to be held but is afraid to be picked up. He does not want to be massaged on his back or chest. When I pick him up placing one arm under his chest and one arm under his hinney he will yelp. Because his original injury was so old and he had NO deep pain, surgery was not an option once he came to DRNA. Now, naturally we will do what is needed to keep him pain free. Naturally this is the part of rescue I do not like (getting a dog too late to help) but it is a fact of life.
You know my heart is acking for Duckie and I wish so much I could kiss the pain away for him.

Ok, I am a worried foster Mom and hate to see him hurting. . Keep in mind that Duckie is not a surgical candidate and up to this point has only been treated by a homopathic Vet using herbs.
Duckie had his appointment today with Dr. Grissom, a vet I really like and trust. Dr G said that it is too early right now to talk about surgery to relieve Duckie's pain. It will be last resort if Duckie is still yelping after he took all his pain meds and his anti-inflammatory, but she's hoping that it should help.
He was in more pain today than he was last week, but it is definitely his old injury, not a new one. She said that trying to keep in more crated could help, along with the meds. Last week, the pain area was T-10 and T-11 and this week, the pain area had increased to T-8 and T-11. Below that, he doesn't feel anything. He has been now off of the entire homopathic regime from the original vet and is able to go on the conventional medicines. He is on Metcam and Methocarbamol with complete crate rest for one week and then she will reevaluate him. Unless, he gets worse then he will go back immediately.
His back was so tight that she would not even try the needle acupuncture instead did the lazar acupuncture to help relieve some of the pressure.
Please continue the   and :bigrayz: :bigrayz: for my wonderful little guy. He wants out of the crate so badly but ...... NO he cannot come out.

Tons more :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: coming your way for Duckie, :angel7: Yolanda! The poor guy. I suppose that the fact it's not a new injury is a bit of good news. Fingers crossed that the meds do the trick. I love Medicam...if anything can do it, it can! :hug99: :hug99: for both of you...let us know how he does!
