I just wanted to remind everyone that you may want to check some of your puppers toys.
Squeakies: Check for dry rot if they have been in the heat/outside, look at the seal around the squeaky part of a toy to make sure it still intact and if you hear the squeaker rattle inside to throw it away. Obvious cracks that could catch a lip if picked up.
Stuffies: Check for loose threads that could possibly get caught around a tooth / neck / dog tags / etc.
Food / water containers: Check for cracks or chips if they are plastic or ceramic. Look for cracks or rust in metal containers.

Thank you Michelle! I'm going to be making this a sticky too, so it can be a great reminder to all.

I only seem to remember when i buy him a new one. I bought a few for Christmas yesterday (yes, I'm a sucker and gave him one already!). I try to replace one bad one for the new one. I would hate to hear someone had a problem when it could have been prevented with a reminder.:pawprint:

What about the KOngs? When do they need to be replaced? They have a liitle Kong that has a little rip at the end where a tooth ripped thru. Should I take it away? I try to check toys often 'cos Reesee will try to "kill" the squeakers & rip the toys open to find it.

I have that problem with Teddy too. If I get him a toy with a squeaker in it, he'll have it shredded in a matter of seconds:shocked: ! I just gave him a new squeaky toy yesterday that my mom made from heavy canvas and he had it torn up in about 6 and 1/2 minutes just to get to the squeaker! So i can't give him any 'soft' type of toy. What to do???? He LOVES the squeaker toys though.

Teddysmom sometimes the dollar stores will have some great toys for a dollar--not bad if they shred them.
