I had decided to clean out the Drinkwell fountain this morning as it was looking pretty mangey. I scrubbed and then replaced the filter, took it apart after putting in a piece in backwards and everything was working fine. Austin, being his usual helpful self, stuck his head in the fountain stream and got his paws all wet and I shooed him away. I then went to the phone to get wind and hail insurance for the new house. I don't see Otto or Austin and then Otto comes out by my feet while I'm on the phone with the agent and he's ripping something. Austin (more than likely) nosed the top of the fountain off and fished out the filter (charcoal) and left it for Otto to destroy. The pellets looked like little mouse turds! Since I was on the phone, I didn't take photos and swept the mess up, cause GROSS MOUSE TURD looking pellets! I'm not remotely worried about him ingesting them since charcoal is what they give dogs that eat poison so I'm hoping it'll help with his stank breff a little.
I left the door to the back yard open so if anyone needed to pee, they could. I'm sitting less than 4 feet from the door. Where did they go? Right on the stinkin carpet! It's misting out today and someone didn't want to get their fur wet. The suspect is Otto.
The trio got baffs yesterday because Austin's tummy isn't as steely as the others and he got runny poos from eating too many rich treats. He went and buried one, stole Grrrt's and ate them both. The poo stuck to his hairy bottom so big time bath for Austin, and now he looks like a puffball.

Oh, I feel for you, I really do. Want to sit Daisy for me? She pulled the 'snow' from under the tree out and was just about to enjoy another meal of it when I saw her.

They have such and abiltity to find things to get into in 60 seconds or less, don't they?

Great story.....I think we've all learned the lesson of "oh no, where'd they go" the hard way!!!

Oh, yeah, I've learned that lesson. Several times! :rotfl: :rotfl: Every time Scooter is out of my sight too long (unless he's outside) then I worry. Sometimes he even gets in trouble when he's in the same room that I'm in (as when he chewed the cord to my foot feed on the :sew: and also on my serger). He's also chewed the power cord to my laptop ($139) and the cord between the laptop and the printer ($35) and all the throw rugs in my house! (Those aren't being replaced until Scooter quits chewing everything or goes to another home).

I know. Some of us don't learn very fast to keep an eye on them.

Austin looks so sweet, hard to believe he could do nything wrong. Cute story. :) Most of mine have been destructive but Trixie is a real sweetie and leaves everything alone... so far. :crossfin:

He is a character! Two minutes is a VERY long time in Dachshund World.

The other day I made a salad and went in to eat it. Something I had put in the sink fell over and the dogs (of course) started barking at it. I went to investigate and Cassie went directly from the kitchen to my salad on the table. We're talking FIVE SECONDS. If she'd had a whole two minutes, she probably would have had the plate washed, dried, and back in the cabinet.

Who knew dogs liked balsamic vinegar?
