Okay, this might be kind of silly, but I was wondering what your dog's full name is, if they have one, and the story behind it. :D

Charlie has a very long name: Eli Charlie Bear Bryant Denny Stadium.
Eli because one time we were seeing if he knew his name, and so we were trying out other names to see if he would respond to the tone of voice or the actual name. Every time we used "Eli" he would look at us! So we figured that was actually his real name.
Charlie because that's what we named him.
Charlie Bear is a nickname we frequently use.
After Bear logically followed Bear Bryant Denny Stadium. (It's the name of the University of Alabama's stadium. We are NOT University of Alabama fans!!! But my BF just used it one day and it stuck.)

So that's Charlie's full name! Please dont' let me be the only weird one!! :ashamed:

We should get some good stories.:cheer2:

Well, my husband and I picked the names Angel and Cassie from the baby name book because we agreed we both liked them. For my husband, that would be End of Story.

We had just moved to Florida a year before, so I wanted beach-related registered names for them. Angel is Hall's Ocean Angelina based on a Smashing Pumpkins song called "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans" :D Cass is Hall's Sandcastle Cassandra mainly because the word sandcastle goes well with Cassandra :).

They also hear "Cassandra Jane" and "Angelina Renee" often enough to respond to those names.

Buddy's is Buddy Matthew and Heidi is Heidi Sue...nothing very exciting here!!

Puppen

Sukie Sue - because I was listening to Steppen Wolf and the song Sookie was playing and everytime the choral part came on she would start with zoomies! Then later we were watching Witches of Eastwick and Michelle Phifer is named Sukie and everytime they said the name..Here came the zoomies again, SO I figured that was her name and her way of letting us know. :)

Fawna - AKA - Fawna Wanna : Fawna's brother, Chip was here with her when she first came to live us. there was snow on the ground and he jumped on her and the paw snow stuck and she looked like a Fawn hopping in the snow. Then later the wanna par, my daughter made up a little poem..Fawna Wanna Wonder Ware, Fawna Has No Underware. :rotfl: Fawna used to love to wear cloths, we called them her Wonder Wares and Daughter would play Super Dog with her, now she pretty much hates cloths most of the time.

Emmy - Emmers..that was her name when she came here.

Puppenstein - aka - Puppen : Because she looked like a Pupper stien all patched together with bits and pieces :) Pupper turned into Puppen within a few minutes of calling her that.

ToeBee - he has ONE toe on his right back foot that has black on it, looks like little bee wings on a white bee.

Snooter's real name is Bella Boo Banister - but we call her Snooter because she's a very nosey, bossy, busy little dog and we call all that being "Snooty" - Snooting in everybody's business is her job!

The Professor Buster Brown Banister - Well because he has is PhD in Mathmatics, and his given name is Buster Brown, and Banister is his last name. It's long so among his math peers he goes by Prof Brown and to those super close, just Bussy.

OK are you ready:

Oscar Owen Meyer Frank Wiener Slobotkin Baron

Oscar--he came with that name

Owen--nickname that I always call him and sometimes wish it was his first name. He looks like an Owen

Mayer--part of the whole "Oscar Mayer" thing. Also, we have a friend whose last name is Mayer

Frank--our friends think it would be hysterical to have a Dachsie named Frank

Wiener--obvious

Slobotkin--a friend's last name that we all love. Oscar loves to hump her male chihuahua, so I say they are married and Oscar uses his last name

Baron--my husband's last name, which is on Oscar's vet records.

Trixie is Trixie or we may change it a little with Trix or The Trixster, she came with the name and it fits her. :hearts:
In the past I've always had 2 names for my furkids but not this time.

Napoleon Dynamite A.

When he was sick my dad put him on the prayer list at church. No explanation that he is a dog, just "Napoleon A." So some churchgoers in Georgia are probably wondering how parents could give their kid such a weird name!! :D

The cats are:

Tina Fey Turner Keys (Adam loves Tina Turner and I love Tina Fey and his last name is Keys)

Molly Shannon Keys (she came with the name Molly and we kept it and continued the SNL theme)

And let us not forget about...

Pharrell Williams (now Pharrell Williams Wood by his forever fam)
Felicity Jane
Reginald E. Buddington III (because Buddy is just too boring!)
Basil Exposition (character in Austin Powers)
Action Jackson (he was quite active)
Reuben Hefewiezen, The Earl of Sandwich (Hope named him Reuben, I elaborated)
Vincent Chance Morganstern IV (he was a Wall Street power broker)
Louis Alexandre Berthier (first marshal of Napoleon's empire)
Mr. Poindaxter (elaborated on Dax)
Starla: Warrior Princess (named for muscular movie character and rather tough action heroine)
Miles Silverberg (character on Murphy Brown!)

Mr. Butters Von Wienerhausen & Miss Eleanor Rigby Von Wienerhausen.

Butters was the dog's name, but he's so snooty, we added "Mr." "Von Wienerhausen" was my husband's doing- he just kept calling him that, so we decided to make it his full AKC name. Miss Rigby's was easy- from the Beatles song "Eleanor Rigby" and we added the Wienerhausen. :)

Pippit's full name is: Pippit Jay What Did You Say. Pippit Jay(incase I wanted to call him PJ and because it rhymes with the last part) What Did You Say because it rhymes with Jay and because I thought it was cute because of how one ear perks up all the time~like he's trying to hear what you said.

Remy ESPN Gray

Remy is the last name of the Red Sox announcer Jery Remy

ESPN is as you probably guessed the sports channel, but for the sake of his name it is said as a word rather than 4 individual letters (it is said like Espen)

Gray is my last name

How cute

I had a Labador in high school. His name was Deacon. We named him after a local person (Deacon Douglas) who was a real bad ass. He (my dog)became know as Freaking Deacon Dogless.

I also had an Oscar (no explanation needed here)

Fenway was named after Fenway Park a baseball stadium and brand name of hot dogs in Boston. We called him Fenway Frankfurter.

Boomer came with that name (from his foster home) but we called him a laundry list of names

Boom Man
Boomster
Boomerstein and Boomerberg (his Jewish names)
Tappy Toes (because of the tic tic tic sound he made as he bustled about investigating every single noise)
Jaws (his little nipping problem)

We found out at some point that his given name at birth (from his horrid owners) was Pretty Boy. Which he really was a beautiful boy. We did think that Boomer was more apropiate because of his booming big bark.

Daphne I named, she just looked like a Daphne. We call her

Daph
Dappy
Daphne the Dachshund
I also make up middle names for her when I am pretend scolding her.
Like Daphne Jean, what have you done? Or come here Ms. Daphne Sage Elizabeth you little princess. You get the idea. Daphne is also know as our pigeon dog. She makes noise just like a pigeon cooing and kind of bobs her head about like a pigeon walking about the sidewalk.

And Gateway

He was named so because to us he looked just like the box the Gatway computer comes in. His names are as follows.

Gay way (my hubby has a thick accent and this is what Gatway sounds like when he calls him).
Way Gay (my two year old grand nephew calls him this very cute)
Woo Woo Woo Woo (this is what his bark sounds like)
Darling
Cutie Pie.

All my pets of course share my last name.

Bogart's registered name is Mr. Bogart (also known as DeForest, Humphrey Bogart's middle name). The other's have a variety of nicknames but not full names.

My entire 6 pack only has one name each. All of them except Wetley are rescues. Becki Decker let me name Wetley, he was only two weeks old when I first saw him.

GOOSEMan: He sounds like a goose when he barks.
Trey: She only has three legs.
Sassy: She can with the name
Elsa: An elegant name for an elegant lady.
Phoenix: A back surgery dog that like the legandary bird rose from the ashes.
Wetley: My brothers nick name which I though was cute.

Duchie is really Duchess, but since she was a rescue/foundling I have no idea what was on her papers

She also goes by HRH the Duchess of Wagoner (our last name)
Duchie Girl

Mama's Stinky Girl (it's the breath, which I suspect is created by the anals... you do the math....)

and, before she lost weight... Chunky Monkey Butt after my fave B and J ice cream. (hers too....)

Otto'sMom

Otto is known as Ottomus Maximus or Ottie Boom Boom due to his former weight problem. Now I just call him OTTO! (shouted)

Buddy is called Budders, he's the type of dog that just doesn't need a last name cause he really never does bad things.

Dolly is the Princess Boutros Boutros Dolly Lama, from Boutros Boutros Ghali and the Dali Lama, or when she's bad, it's Dolly Madison.

Grrrt is Gertrude, named Grrrt cause all she does is growl and bark from her spot, be it the Fortress of Gertitude, or beside me in my chair. She's also known as Pee Pee Tunia, since she's never gonna get housebroken, which has morphed into Purpletunia Squirtlebug

Austin sometimes goes by "Austie Bostie, or Boston" for being so bossy.

Few of the cats have full names too.

Lizzie Borden (used to bite me alot)
Oz Well, Ozwald (she's the munchkin kitty)
Burn Wallis/ Burn Ward (Burnie who was burned in an engine block)
Kali Tosis (she had the liverkeritosis disease that nearly killed her, she's Kali2K for the cost of the vet's bills.
The remaining cats just have singular names.

Tabytha Marie McIntosh. Because that's who she is. :) It's a good catholic name, we aren't Catholic, but Tabytha is. ;)

Indigo Sue McIntosh. Blue Heeler...everyone gets that picture, she came with the name Indigo. Sue, because it goes with the rest of her name.

Colt Lee McIntosh. Pound pupper they called 'Uno', we kept calling out names, he came to Colt, so that was his name. Lee is hubby's middle name.

Zippy McIntosh. His daddy was Zeus. I think hubby was just not being creative the day Zip was born.

Josie Bug McIntosh. She's our JB. I didn't name her.

Our last name is McIntosh, so that's what the furkids get.

One day I want to get a third Cattle Dog (blue heeler) and I want to name the dog "Time". Time, after all, is the greatest healer of all. I don't think hubby likes the idea as much as me. The cattle dogs are truly HIS dogs, but I eventually will talk him into it. ;)

Jack Henry Crawford

He was already named Jack and the middle name was a toss up between Harry (for Harry Potter) or Henry (I just like the name). Crawford is my last name so no contest.

Truly boring, eh?:sosad:

My story is boring. All of the doxies in my family have "B" names, so when I was a kid, I decided a great "B" name would be Bailey. When I adopted my Bayley, I added the extra y because my mother spelled my name with a y (Robyne) and I thought it would be different. Braydi was the tough one...she is a female but looks and acts like a male and I'm in lust with Tom Brady from the Patriots soooooo....there you have it. :) The other "B" doxies in the family were Brandy and Brownie and my brother now has Berkeley. See...very "B"oring story. :rotfl:

Lola is the only one with a formal name and it is Fraulein Lolita of Woofsburg, I knew before I got her that I wanted to name her Lola. She also goes by Roly Poly Loly (we're working on getting rid of that name) Queen Lola and Wowa.

Ries' name is Riesling (a german wine-my husband is a wine lover) but also goes by Reesy Cup and my favorite, Happy Pants because he wiggles all over when he gets excited.

Alex's Mom
03-25-2008, 07:39 AM
Alex is Erdenrot's Alexis Mit Charmut...which means Erdenrots' (the name of the breeder...BAAAAAAD breeder ... where I got her from. It literally means red earth in German, since they were on PEI, which is famous for its red soil), Alexis with charm. A total misnomer cuz while lord knows I love my dog, charming is not a word I'd use to describe her! she also goes by baby girl, lumpy bumpy dog, and Alex the Wonderdog (aka the Mystery doggie!).

Ok

Kenna- Miss MaKenna (named after Miss Makenna from the movie Somewhere in Time) Fat Mama--becasue she is a big girl who needs to shed a few pounds. Nenna, Mama, Henny Penny (this is from her barking at everything and nothing being there)

Cowboy- my daughter named him that?? She was 3 at the time so, I think she just named him after a dog she saw on TV (Scamper I think) CowCow is what he is called when he is being a sweetie.

Kleo- Countess Kaleidoscope ---she is a dapple so I found a name that went with color and the fact my daughter wanted to name her Cleo. I wanted to name her Monet...but I was over ruled by a 3 year old. Keke, Keekeers, Poo foot (because as a puppy she would always step in her poo when I would take her out every morning)

Girtty- she came with that name. I call her GG, G-Money (due to the vet bills) Girt the flirt (because she is a flirt)

Speedy-Speed Racer- came with the name-Yolanda named him that after she saw him Speed around--I think she was going to call him Ajax?? at first. I call him Lumpy, Speed Bump (he gets under your feet and slows you down) Rumpy Roo (??? no idea) Brat (because he is one) Speedy Lumpy Lou (no Idea on this one either).

My dh sometimes calls Daisy, Daisy Mae, but her real name is Daisy Sophia. Taffy is Taffy Nosy Parker and Mindy is Mindy Manners (because she actually has some, unline TNP).

Taffy has more nicknames, like Brat, Little Brown Dachshund, Little Deaf Dachshund (she has the selective hearing thing down pat) Nosy Parker, Killer, Pest, etc.
