So this morning the sitter who didn't do as I told her showed up with her medical bills. She wants me to pay it. I got really mad I have to admit. I told her that the whole incident was completely her fault and had she listened to me this wouldn't have happened. Then all of the sudden the story of how it happened changed.

Dh says we have to pay because we are liable, etc. I just want to kick her as*.

What in the world is her story now???

I'd call a lawyer. what a witch. We're keeping you in our prayers.

:ditto: about the lawyer, but they'll probably say that the dog owner is ultimately responsible. :sosad:

Good luck!:bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz:

You can call a lawyer, but he probably will tell you that not only are you responsible as the dog owner, but as her employer. She was working for you, in your home. That pretty much means you're responsible for the bills. If you are paying for her to have insurance, the insurance can pick up most of it.

I hope her medical bills aren't too high. Unfortunately you are responsible. I would definitely contact an attorney though. I think she should sign some sort of release limiting your responsibility. You don’t want to get stuck with an unending quest for more money, including charges for damages, distress and mental anguish etc. :rotfl:

I agree with Patt, you will still need a lawyer for this. Lots of coping :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz:

Thank you guys. I have emailed our attorney. I want to get t over with today and send her on her way out the door.

Just makes my blood boil when I think of all stupid rules here in America. You are being robbed and if the robber slips and falls in your house, they can sue you??? Don't you think it is to much?

that is a stoopid rule, but sometimes you have to take the bad with the good and look at the overall picture ... America is kind of like my DH - irritating sometimes but still has such a load of redeeming qualities it's the best there is!

no offense to our CanUdian friends- just a little patriotism... :rbanana: :wbanana: :bbanana:

and it still SUCKS that her stoopidity will cost you money.

:ditto: :ditto: We do have some rules that may seem odd. But all in all I still think the US of A is the best deal going. :rbanana: :wbanana: :bbanana: :rbanana: :wbanana: :bbanana:
