Meet Up - Transport! (pic heavy)

I did my first transport this weekend. Two gorgeous little guys from Gulf Coast Dachshun Rescue. I was able to meet Ann Marie in Ocean Springs and then hand them off to Melissa in Mobile. My daughter and I fell in absolute :hearts: with the cutie patooties. They are not related to each other but were so bonded and just plain gorgeous.

I was pretty close to failing transport 101. I was extremely tempted to take those two little guys and just head for the house. Ann Marie and I didn't get much time to chat - traffic backed the transport behind a bit and the temp went from 74 to about 60 in a matter of a couple of hours. They had a long trip ahead of them to get back to Slidell. It was great to put a face to a name though and I can't wait to do it again!

Their final destination to their forever home was Clermont Florida! Whoo hoo!

I really want to start helping with transport too, I have to bring this up to my DH and see what he thinks, I figure If I can do this mainly on the weekends, it should not be a problem because he is always working most weekends anyway..

I don't like scheduling things to do when he is home because I feel bad about leaving him at home when he barely has any home time with us..

but if he is working the weekends, then I would love to do as many different things possible to help out rescue

I think I would be like you and want to drive them straight to my house :rotfl:
