Well of course it is....almost everyone in my family thinks they had to be born in December....why should she be any different? It's hard to believe my little puppy face is going to be two years old.

Anyone have a recipe for a cake...two dog size? I want them to have a bit of a celebration but don't want them to make themselves sick....and don't want to give them human food....even tho I know they would love it. They are getting to the point where they stand and stare into the fridge just like my two legged kids did.

Her birthday is on the 12th. She falls in the midst of the crowd....we have Dec 4th, 12th, 16th, 19th, 24th and 27th. Wasn't there something else that month? Oh yeah....CHRISTMAS :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good thing Mom went back to work.

I have the Three Dog Bakery cookbook... but the only recipe I've made is the ginger biscuits. I'm sure all their recipes are delicious (and humans can eat most of them too, LOL)... but I am sure someone has personal experience with a cake recipe that they can share.

I took the easy way out and gave mine each a spoonful of vanilla ice cream . I did put it in their bowls like I do at meals, so at least they don't stalk the freezer now.

This is the recipe I used for Heidi's gotcha day cake! They LOVED it!!! I dind't sue cottage cheese for the frosting though, I whipped up cream cheese instead.

Carrot Cake
1 cup flour
1tsp baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 egg

Mix flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 8" round cake pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Let cool. Puree cottage cheese in blender for icing. Decorate with more peanut butter and carrots

They love carrots...get them at the evening meal, and best of all, I can buy them shredded. I have suffered many injuries shredding carrots. Sounds yummy, and I am sure they will enjoy it. Thanks.

Anyone got a bright idea how to zest limes without bloodshed? I have a great recipe for key lime cooler cookies.....but they require fresh zest, preferable blood free, lol. I hate grating....it's so.....uh...grating.

Get a micro planer. They will zest anything and its super easy and no blood.I got mine at the hardware store for like $12 and use it on lots of stuff like lemon, lime, real nutmeg, cinnamom, chocolate carrots cucumbers. Hope this helps. Oh and Rachel Ray always uses one onher show too. Brooke

To carry on with the ice cream theme, Alex always gets her own Dairy Queen cone in a cup for her birthday treat. It's her absolute all time favourite thing (and her mom's too ).

Mine love ice cream as well, and get dairy queen, it's much safer than me actually baking them something!! Although that carrot cake does sound tasty!
