    Default Starting treatments tomorrow

that all goes well. Starting Theo's deworming treatments tomorrow. I am going to listen to my vet on this one. I don't feel great about it, but we spoke for over an hour on the phone and this is the next step that needs to be taken. I didn't know that Giardia can stay in a dog for YEARS! I also didn't realize that its hard to get rid of once a dog has it. Symptoms can come and go. He has most of the symptoms but then again he has all the symptoms for IBS as well. He has to take the meds once a day for 5 days. Then in 3 weeks another 5 days and 7 weeks after that another 5 days. What concerns me is if he doesn't have parasites, am I harming his already fragile gut even further? This is what is bothering me. I don't want him to be worse off. Has anyone ever use Fenbendazole before? Would appreciate any rayz you can spare, that all goes well for Theo.

I don't know anything about Fenbendazole and have no experience with digestional problems, but I'm sending tons of

I used it years ago, and don't recall anything awful happening, but ITA that there can be gastric-type side effects, although Panacur is one of the better tolerated dewormers according to the literature. Marvista Vet in LA has a really good set of resources, including info on a ton of drugs on their pharmacy page http://www.marvistavet.com/html/pharmacy_center.html Tons of for your boy and for you! Keep us posted, ok?

I think if he has parasites or doesn't, his system will handle the drugs the same way? If you take two Aspirin but don't have a headache, your body is going to process it the same, just there is no headache to tell if it did it's job. She knows everything Theo has been through, and I don't think she would recommend this treatment if she felt it would further compromise him.

    Good luck!!
