    Default IzzyBean's Turn

Ron and I went out last night. When we came home, Izzy was curled up on her blanket in the kitchen(she can't stay in he room with the Guinea Pigs, so she and Calli stay in the kitchen) "Who wants to go outside?" Calli and Pippit come running. No Izzy. I call her. No Izzy. So, Ron goes and gets her and brings her to me. I put her on the ground and tell her to go pee. And she flops over and starts crying!!

If you remember, she's not good about letting me see anything.....did she get stung by something?
    She goes in the crate.

I get up several times to check on her. Something's wrong.
This morning, she let me look: her hind leg is swollen and she's putting no weight on it. Poor girl, it's even her leg she stands on to pee.....

My vet doesn't open until 8 and I start work at 7:30....so, I called my never had a pet boss....who told me not to worry, to take care of my baby and let them know what was happening. I'm hoping to drop her off and have her checked out while I'm at work.

We could use some rayz for Izzy and some for my wallet, too.

Sorry I didn't update earlier....but things were pretty crazy!!!

My vet called. There was a brake in the ankle and they were concerned that there could be ligament damage. I should go to an ortho surgeon.
Called several. All booked. For weeks. Pleaded my case with several. Also called the E-vet and they have an ortho surgeon on until 5. She suggested I come in as an emergency. So, I leave work early and go to get Izzy.
On my way to get her, a more local vet calls me back and can squeeze me in if I can get there ASAP.

He was SO GOOD with my Bean. He poked, prodded and felt around first her good foot and then the bad one. She just laid there. Was such a good girl.

Good news~no ligament damage that he could feel. He's going to sedate her tomorrow and splint it. She broke two of the small bones on the top of her foot(Metetarsal) And will go back tomorrow for sedation and splinting.
